Arrived about 6:30pm on Saturday. Front parking lot was full but we found parking in the back. Waited 10-15 minutes to place our order then found a table for our party of seven. I was concerned there wouldn't any tables available but people were moving in/out pretty well. The staff was also doing a good job of getting tables cleaned for customers. Food arrived pretty soon after we sat down. The portions were very generous... no skimping on the meat! I had the regular Texas brisket plate which came with a side and either Texas toast or cornbread. I opted for baked beans and cornbread. It was all delicious. Best cornbread ever! My son had the Stock Market sandwich ... just FYI, it's enormous. Wish we lived closer but the next time we are in the area, we'll be back!
Second time within a week for a visit! I had to bring my parents who are visiting out of town. Omg my mom and I had the salad and it was huge! And pulled pork is so delicious My dad loved the half slab of ribs. And he had to take some home! Everyone loved their meals! Home run! And the staff is amazing and friendly. Great spot for a very wholesome meal!
Thought I died and went to heaven! You won't find better barbecue food in Concord. They have a streamline process big menu on the wall. You wait in line and order at the counter. They give you a number and you get your own drink and sit down waiting for them to bring you your amazing meal! It's a casual place easy for families or even for a date night. You need to mention no sauce if you want to use the various bbq sauces in the table. Each meal was a huge serving, easily shared. The flavor and tenderness of the meat was every meat eaters dream. You just need to race here to try it. Special note Wednesdays you get an extra side free.
This is an excellent place for barbecue! Both hubby and son love barbecue and can really eat, and they thought this place was fantastic. There is often a long line, but it goes pretty fast. Be sure to come hungry! This place gives you so much food! I'll let my pictures tell the story.
This place hits a home run every time I go. I recommend the chicken quarters with Alabama white sauce plate, Mac and cheese and fries. If you're in the mood for pork or ribs you won't be disappointed. Portions are huge so split a plate. Get the tea and don't skip the banana pudding! Service is super quick and they are always accommodating. Sit down and enjoy the different sauces on the table in a clean friendly atmosphere! Hands down best bbq in Charlotte area.
Not a huge bbq fan but I heard about this place over the years but never prioritized getting over here. I recently attended a graduation party that served some really good Mac and cheese from the smoke pit and I decided at that point to try them out a few days later. I ordered the smoked turkey, pulled chicken, okra, Mac, potato salad, greens, cornbread.....all amazing. The portions are massive and served in an aluminum pan...insane! Bbq spots are not known to have good sides so this place is in a league of their own. I will definitely add this to my favorites list.
This place serves big portions of protein. Small portions on the sides but equally as delicious! You must order your food BEFORE getting a table. Food is brought out fast so you won't have to wait long. You may have a longer wait if there is a line to order but it's worth it. Go for the burnt ends, they are a must! The turkey was juicy as was the pork and brisket. Oh! I mixed the southern sweet BBQ sauce with the sizzling one to get a sweet but spicy mix. You're welcome!
Very impressed! If you want authentic southern barbecue, look no further! The Smoke Pit is the real thing. This place was busy on an early Friday evening for dinner. When you walk in there are two lines, one for dine in and one for take out. It was bustling for both, but a very short wait. This place is a well oiled machine that truly moves people through the order process and, since tables fill up, they won't put your order through until you have an available table to sit. I like this so much. That is truly taking care of your customers!! So now the food. The trays are enormous. You really get large portions for your money. We tried the Chopped Brisket Sandwich with sweet potato casserole, Texas Brisket Plate with Hash Brown Casserole and Corn Bread, 4 bones Ribs Plate with Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens, BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwich with Mac and Cheese and 2 drinks for $75. That's a lot of food for the price. Everything was delicious and we took half of our meals home. Give this great place a try for real Bbq. It is a small place but has great service and a good relaxed atmosphere. You won't be disappointed!
I love the Smoke Pit. Their brisket is amazing. We got take out so we didn't have to wait a long period of time. Their restaurant is very popular. There is typically a line when you arrive. They are efficient where they separate the line to be seated with those picking up takeout. There are so many sauces you can try. They are all very good. The restaurant is very casual. No need to get dressed up. I have eaten inside but we typically get take out. It's a bit pricey but if you like BBQ, chicken, or brisket (to name a few) it will be worth it.
I wasn't prepared. I ate lunch. This is the kind of place you prepare beforehand for, perhaps have a grapefruit for breakfast and skip lunch Or consider just getting to one meat, unless properly trained and accustomed to throwing back some food. The meat combo platter was a bit much for me. I shared with my husband and had tons leftover. Love my sweet potato casserole but based off how I felt a couple of hours later they used a ton of butter. It was good and well worth the experience, but if I repeat I may pick a nice sandwich plate Cute atmosphere and colorful decor with some bbq splattering on the wall(judgment free zone). Lady was friendly at the register and made small talk with a nice young man while he cleaned a table off for me.
